In light of the EPO Boards of Appeal objective of improving timeliness of appeals, a consultation has been launched on proposed changes to the Rules of the Board of Appeal.
Specifically, the suggested edits “concern a shortening of the standard period for filing the reply to the statement of grounds of appeal as well as a strengthening of the position of parties in the application of the convergent approach”.
The consultation, launched today, is open until 11 September 2023.
