Following its previous report, the EPO has issued its latest survey on users’ experience of Opposition Oral proceedings by videoconference. The results show a slight increase in users who consider such format “good” or “very good” (77%, previously 66%).
The report also reveals some useful statistics such as the number of Oral Proceedings per month, the number of pending cases, and also outcomes as of June 2022 (43% maintained in amended form, 31% revoked and 28% oppositions rejected):
The EPO also confirms that 133 witness or party hearings were carried out by VICO in 2021, and 62 were carried out by VICO in the first six months of 2022.
